Novelty Hill-Januik Winery is a full-service Tasting Room and Events venue located in Woodinville, WA. Under legendary Washington winemaker Mike Januik, the winery creates award-winning wines, produces world-class corporate and private events, including weddings, and hosts over 40,000 Tasting Room guests per year.

Summary: We are in search of a talented and motivated, Pastry Chef to assist the Chef and Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations, execute Tasting Room Service, Private Events and Wine Club events, and advance our food program. The right person is a culinary artist with a talent for organization and detail, a passion for customer service, and a desire to always think bigger. This candidate is comfortable working with multiple departments and managing competing priorities and thrives in an ever-changing environment, while always keeping to the highest standards. Additional duties to include pizza oven & catering preparation. This is a Part Time (under 32 hours per week), with the ability to move to Full Time in future months in accordance with business needs.

Duties:

  • Support Chef in all aspects of kitchen management & requests
  • Prep & be Point Person(s) for pastry, dessert, charcuterie & boards
  • Assist Chef with development of seasonal menus
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding food safety and health code regulations
  • Maintain regular and thorough cleaning procedures and schedules for all kitchen areas, walk-in cooler/freezer and equipment
  • Oversee safe equipment operation and regular maintenance
  • Report any maintenance issues as soon as they occur
  • Ensure effective inventory control
  • Participating in Wine Club and other special winery events as required
  • Performing other duties as directed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years related experience in fine dining or in culinary arts position
  • Ability to lift 55 pounds and work on feet for long periods of time
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and evening events
  • Must have a great attitude, and be a motivated team player who can work efficiently in high volume situations
  • Manage multiple events in a day
  • Must have a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail and understanding of leadership
  • Must hold a valid food handlers certification card and have HACCP knowledge
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • Ability to weekdays, weekends, & holiday’s accordance with business & private event needs

Compensation:

$24-$26 per hour DOE. Tips & Service Charge in addition to hourly rate.
