Tasting Room Associate

Location: Matthew’s Winery Tasting Room & Tenor Winemaking Studio

Schedule: Regular weekend and weekday shifts + occasional additional days

Avallé is a family-owned wine company that produces wine for 6 different wine brands, each with a unique focus. These brands include: Matthews Winery, Tenor Wines, Single Barrel, Jaine, From The Sky Down, and Blackboard.

Position Summary:

We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Tasting Room Associate at our Matthews Farm Tasting Room as well as our Winemaking Studio location. The role includes regular weekends and a few weekday shifts, so consistency and good communication are essential. We're a small team, and we count on each other to show up and deliver a great guest experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Create a welcoming and engaging environment for all guests

- Pour and present wines, sharing the story of the Columbia Valley and communicating our winemaking philosophy

- Educate visitors about our wines and the vineyards they come from

- Operate the POS system and handle transactions

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room

- Restock wine, food, and merchandise as needed

- Assist with wine club and special events when scheduled

- Must be willing to work weekends and occasional holidays

 

Qualifications:

- Must be 21+ years old

- Prior experience in wine or hospitality preferred, but not required

- Strong customer service and communication skills

- Dependable, punctual, and communicative — reliability is key

- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

- Comfort with basic technology (POS systems, scheduling apps, etc.)

- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
